How to cook rib-eye steak with wasabi sour cream
Wasabi is one of the most popular ingredients for many Japanese grills. In this recipe, I will describe, how to cook rib-eye steak with wasabi sour cream. This recipe works perfectly with fatty tender meat with nice marbling, like rib-eye steaks. Garlic-soy sauce marinade enhance the meaty taste of this steak and wasabi with sour cream make perfect contrast taste. The most optimal is to cook this rib-eye steak to medium-rare doneness.

step-by-step instructions

  1. Ingredients:
    • 2 Rib-eye steaks, 1 inch thick slices.
    • ½ cup of garlic-soy sauce marinade. See below, how to prepare this sauce.
    • ½ cup of soured cream
    • 1 tbsp of freshly prepared wasabi.

  2. Cover meat with garlic-soy sauce from both sides and marinate for 15-20 minutes.

  3. Mix soured cream with wasabi.

  4. Preheat grill to medium-hot and grill steaks by usual way. It is a bit easier to cook them covered with lead, but this is not crucial.

  5. Do not forget to turns steak, to avoid burning from one side. Cook to medium-rare doneness. After cooking, give 3-5 minutes for steak to rest.

  6. Slice steak across the grains and serve it with fresh salads, grilled vegetables and mushrooms. Immediately before serving, pour wasabi sour cream sauce all over the meat.
