How to make tzatziki
Tzatziki is a traditional Greek sauce, used as an individual starter or as a sauce for the fried or roasted meat. Tzatziki is most suitable to medium or well-done meat, preferable served in pita-bread with onion salad. In this article I will tell how to make tzatziki and this is very easy to do at home.

step-by-step instructions

  1. Ingredients.
    • Greek style yoghurt, 300 ml
    • Full cucumber, 250-300 gm
    • Mint, medium bunch
    • Dill, small bunch
    • Garlic, 1-2 cloves
    • Olive oil, 2 tsp
    • Lemon juice, 2 tsp
    • Salt ½ - 1 tsp.
    • Black pepper, ¼ tsp

  2. Prepare cucumber, Peel the skin and remove seeds; Chop into a small cubes; Salt with all salt necessary for this tzatziki recipe; remove all dripping juice but hanging in a sieve for 15-20 minutes. It is possible to slightly press it to remove a bit more juice.

  3. Mix together all other ingredients (yoghurt, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, mint, dill and black pepper) and process them with blender.

  4. Mix with dried cucumber and chill. Serve chilled.



tips and tricks

  • Tzatziki should be server cold.
  • Use thickest Greek yoghurt.
  • Serve with any lamb or pork barbecue.
  • It is possible to finely chop all ingredients, rather than process them with blender.
  • Make tzatziki sauce in advance, to give some time for maturing.
