How to make minted lamb steak
Mint is one of the most suitable herb for fried lamb. Many cuisines in the world have minted lamb steak in their lamb dishes section, for example, minted lamb steaks are very popular in English cuisine. There are two principally different ways to make minted lamb, with marinating before and after cooking. In this recipe, we will show how to marinate lamb in mint marinade before frying.

step-by-step instructions

  1. Ingredients.
    • Lamb leg. We do not need whole leg for cooking, but we need to cut only few steaks. You can use already prepared steaks instead.
    • Herbs
      • Fresh mint
      • Rosemary
      • Thyme
      • Garlic
    • Olive oil
    • Black pepper
    • Salt

  2. Grate garlic. Finely chop herbs. Add milled salt and pepper. Cover everything with olive oil and mix well. Proportions are approximate:
    • Herbs – 2 tbsp
    • Garlic – 3-4 cloves
    • Salt 1/2 tsp
    • Pepper 1/4 tsp
    • Olive oil – 5 tbsp

  3. Few steps to prepare lamb steaks, which can be omitted, when the already prepared lamb steaks are used. By one simple cut remove lamb shank. Lamb shank can be used latter for other dishes.

  4. From internal side of leg, cut along the bone and remove the bone. This bone can be used latter for making stock.

  5. Slice meat across the grains to make 0,5 inches steaks.

  6. Rub meat from both sides with prepared marinate. Leave for 10-15 minutes for marinating, but in fact, you can keep it in the fridge overnight.

  7. Cook on medium-hot frying pan for 5-10 minutes. (5 minutes for rare steak, 10 minutes for well done steak).

  8. Turn steak and fry other side for the same time 5-10 minutes. (5 minutes for rare steak, 10 minutes for well done steak).

  9. Serve with some side dishes.
