How to clean cuttlefish by hot water
One of the simplest way to clean Cephalopoda and cuttlefishes consists in the destruction of skin by hot water. This method is very convenient for cleaning of tentacles. Here we will show, how to clean 1.5 kg cuttlefish.

step-by-step instructions

  1. Make small cut of the skin neat the front end of cuttlebone. This place is marked by red cross.

  2. Squeeze the back side of cuttlefish to push out the cuttlefish's bone.

  3. Break or cut the cover skin of the cuttlebone cavity.

  4. Break by hands the thin muscle, which covers the stomach.

  5. Remove the stomach content from the body. Chop off the head from the insides.

  6. Chop off the bone from the head.

  7. Push the cuttlefish's beak and cut them off.

  8. Remove eyes and all connective tissues.

  9. Wash well main body and the head, and put everything into a large bowl. Fill with the boiling hot water and keep for 30-50 sec.

  10. After worming up, chill down the cuttlefish with plenty of cold water. Now yo can easily peel all skin bits, because they will be seriously damaged by hot water.
