The main advantage of this recipe is the simplicity of the ingredients and simplicity of the cooking procedure with consistently great results.

Turkey legs, 3 drumsticks. Basically, one turkey leg drumstick per portion.
Onion, 5 medium bulbs, or approximately two bulbs per one leg.
Ginger, 20-50 gm, depends on the personal preferences.
Black pepper to taste.
Salt to taste.
Chop onion and ginger, add salt and milled black pepper and add everything to the casserole. Place casserole on low heat. Add 50 ml of water to start cooking without burning.
Brown the turkey legs for about 3-5 minutes on each side on a pan with high heat without any oil to make them a bit more colourful and more tasty.
Place the turkey legs into the casserole with the onion and cook on low heat under the lid for about 1-1&frac; hours until the meat turns very soft. After the first 30-40 minutes of cooking, turn meat pieces over and check the salt level by tasting it.
Once cooked, remove the meat from the casserole and thicken the left over juice with onion to your preferable thickness.
Serve meat with gravy and enjoy.
tips and tricks
Ginger is not an absolutely “must have” in this recipe, and you can easily omit it.
It is possible to add a bit of garlic to the onion, but not crucial as well.
To simplify the cooking procedure, it is possible to skip browning the turkey legs (step 3 can be omitted.) Browning starts a Mallard reaction, which improves the taste.
On the picture you can see that drumsticks are chopped into two parts, but this only done to fit them to the casserole.
