Fresh edible crabs are perfect boiled, but they can be much better, if they are boiled with some extra spices. In this recipe we will use most common spices, which are used for cooking boiling crab, without significant change of his taste, just improving. Personally, I think, If you'd like to make a boiled crab, always use this, or similar set of spices.

Ingredients:
Fresh, live crabs.
Salt, 2tbsp per each litre of water
Spices:
Bay leaves, 3-5 leaves
Fennel seeds. 1tsp. You also can use caraway seeds.
Allspice seeds, ½ - 1 tsp.
Cloves seeds, ½ - 1 tsp.
Pepper corns, ½ - 1 tsp.
Garlic, ½ - 1 bulb.
Dill, medium bunch
Bring water to boil in a large pot. Add salt and spices.
Place crabs into boiling water. Be careful handling live crabs – they can bite.
Add dill. Boil until crabs start float and 5 more minutes. In total it should take 25-30 minutes in the boiling water.
Remove crabs from the water and chill them down to the room temperature. When they are chilled, you can either serve them, or store in the fridge for further usage, or keep them in the freezer.
Open crab shell, crack the claws and serve.
tips and tricks
It is very important to use very fresh, live crabs.
If an opened crab have some liquid inside, or the meat is full of liquid – discard this crab immediately – it is not fresh enough.
