How to make rhubarb and banano jam
Late spring rhubarb start to grow very quickly and it is very tender, juice and full of vitamins. The best way to preserve this lovely grass is to make a quicj jam with bananoes. This will be very beautifull adition to any deserts.

step-by-step instructions

  1. Ingredients.
    • The overgrown rhubarb petioles, 1 kg.
    • 2 Bananoes.
    • Shugar, 1 kg.

  2. Pill rhubarb petioles from the skin,

  3. Chop rhubarb petioles into 1 cm pieces.

  4. Mix rhubarb with sugar and leave for 12 hours. After 12 hours all sugar will be desolved in rhubarb juice.

  5. Finely chop pilled bananoes.

  6. Add bananoes to the rhubarb with sugar.

  7. The mixture of bananoes with sugar and rhubarb bring to boil and immediately reduce heat to bring the jam to a simmer. Simmer for 6-7 minutes, exactly! Remove from the heat. The rhubarb and bananoes jam is ready. Now it is possible to preserve this jam with canning, or serve it to consume within few days.



tips and tricks

  • Do not simmer rhubarb for longer than 7 minutes – it will turns into a formless jelly.
